What began as an outreach mission in Atlanta, Ga., quickly spread to the Midwest region of Eastern Iowa through contacts with volunteer families and friends.
Since joining forces with ServeHAITI in 2002, members of Iowa parishes, including Our Lady of the River in LeClaire, St. Joseph’s in Bellevue and St. Joseph’s in DeWitt, have made tremendous contributions to the organization. Over the past several years, our Iowa parish support has blossomed and we are privileged to receive volunteer and resource assistance from St. Paul the Apostle, St. Joseph Hills, St. Mary’s (Lonetree), St Mary’s (Nichols), St. Catherines, St. Donatus and St. Peter & Paul (Springbrook).
While the financial contributions of Iowa parishes and volunteers have been generous, the donation of time and skills has been equally as important to the endeavor. The volunteers in Iowa are hosts of ServeHAITI’s bi-annual fundraiser.
New York Delegation
Shortly after joining the Board in 2010, Board Member Robert King became a strong advocate for ServeHAITI from his home in Manhattan. As a pilot, Rob flies needed supplies and equipment into Haiti to support our programs.
In 2011 and 2012, ServeHAITI held a fundraising event co-sponsored by Five Prime Advisors and Sutherland Asbill Brennan in Manhattan as part of our outreach to New York friends and supporters. Plans are underway for upcoming similar events and travel teams are preparing now to visit Haiti.
